Swiss Pear
Pear trees are commonly found growing in small copses in the corners of fields throughout Switzerland and elsewhere in Europe. It is also found in plantations across the world. A very fine and even textured timber, Pear can be machined to an incredibly fine finish, and carves and works superbly. It was used for panelling in the World Bank Headquarters Building. Steaming give rise to an even deep pink colouration.
