Sweet Chestnut

A very stable and durable timber resembling Oak but without the ray figure. Chestnut is less dense than Oak and very easy to work, glue and finish. Uses include furniture, joinery, internal or external cladding and decking. Care is needed to avoid tannin staining when used outdoors and stainless steel or brass fixings must be used. As well as stocks of rough sawn timber, we also carry stocks of glu-lam beams, cladding and decking profiles in this timber.
