Pitch Pine
A timber commonly used in the Victorian era, both for constructional work and boat work, Pitch Pine is a dense and hard-wearing durable softwood, with applications in flooring, decking, boat planking, joinery, and restoration. It can be very resinous and clog abrasives, feeling greasy to the touch. Pinus oocarpa is the national tree of Honduras.
