Olive
Olive trees are grown for their fruit, so the only logs to reach market are those which fail to crop sufficiently due to injury or disease. Healthy trees may crop for hundreds of years. The wood is dense, but works easily, and is subject to fissuring. Olive is a beautifully marked wood with brown/black streaks on a creamy yellow background. Main uses are kitchen woodware such as spatulas, spoons, chopping boards etc. and some finds applications in furniture or turnery.
