Actually from a single specie of Seraya from Borneo, Majau is much more consistent than many commercial parcels of Dark Red Meranti which can be comprised of a number of species. Medium pink to reddish brown in colour, this is a moderately durable hardwood with small movement, and excellent painting and staining properties. It machines easily and cleanly and is firm textured, consistent and reliable in service.
