Botanically Pinus sylvestris or Scots Pine, our stock is predominantly of Mid-Swedish origin, selected to be slow grown with minimal black knotting. Whereas generally the top grade available is Unsorted, which comprises a mix of grades I, II, III and IV; our ‘Sykes Grade 1’ is specially selected to be mainly grade I with a little grade II, but no III or IV. We consider it to be unrivalled in the UK Trade, and every board bears our name. A good timber for general joinery, our Sykes grade 1 is highly sought after for quality softwood work.
