Afrormosia
Afrormosia is a fine and uniform textured timber that is both very durable and very stable. Golden brown to mid brown in colour, it makes a good alternative to Teak. Interlocking grain on radial surfaces requires care when machining. Afrormosia reacts with ferrous metals to create a blue-stain, so stainless steel, brass or phosphor-bronze fittings and fixings should be used.
